The course provides information in the areas of general, civil litigation, family, real estate, and corporate and estate practice and procedures.

Incorporating statutory amendments in legal procedures and the procedural changes resulting from the impact of technology on the legal profession, especially in the area of electronic filing and registration in corporate and real estate proactive.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of civil litigation.

Students learn the Alberta court litigation stages and procedures, how to prepare pre-trial and trial proceeding documents, and the procedure for actions in Provincial Court and Civil Division.

This course introduces students to the software used in the legal environment.

Students analyze support software designed to provide attorneys a more efficient way to search for, organize, and analyze documents and transcripts when preparing a case.

This course provides the fundamentals of the structure of the Canadian Legal System. Topics include: Introduction and overview of Criminal Law, Substantive Criminal Law, Criminal Procedures and Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The course is an introduction to energy industry fundamentals in Canada and Alberta. It covers many aspects, including the structure and market of Canada’s electricity industry, major players, statistical data, and carbon emissions.

Renewable resources and financing methods are covered. Energy opportunities and challenges are discussed within the context of Canada’s gradual transition from fossil fuels to renewables.

This course guides students through the Microsoft Windows application Word. Students will learn how to create and manipulate Word documents through a practical, hands-on approach. 

This course will introduce students to the fundamental English Language skills necessary to attain meaningful employment in contemporary business operations.
